Dietitian Services Gold Coast & Logan

NDIS Disability Dietitian Services

Apple A Day Dietetics is a registered NDIS provider delivering disability nutrition services across the Gold Coast, Logan, and Brisbane South regions. Every practitioner holds Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status, the only credential that qualifies for NDIS Capacity Building funding. We operate from multiple clinic locations, provide home visits across the region, and offer telehealth for participants across Queensland.

Whether you are a support coordinator submitting your first referral, a participant managing your own plan, or a supported accommodation provider looking for regular nutrition services, this page explains what we offer, how NDIS funding applies, and how to get started.

Individual consultations

A comprehensive one-on-one consultation to assess current diet and lifestyle, specific clinical and/or nutritional issues and goals of treatment. A personalised meal and nutrition action plan will also be provided.
Individual consultations can be provided at one of our medical centre locations, our home office on the Gold Coast or within the comfort of your own home.

NDIS registered

All of our dietitians are registered as NDIS providers and experienced in providing nutritional recommendations for those with disabilities and living in supported accommodation. Our NDIS dietitians are familiar with the reporting requirements and organisational structure of the NDIS and can provide home visits, detailed meal plans and recipes, cooking lessons and staff training if required.

Aged care consulting

Malnutrition can be extremely prevalent in residential aged care facilities and its consequences can be far-reaching. Decreased mobility, increased falls risk, increased susceptibility to infection and poor wound healing are among its potential sequelae, which has a flow on effect on medication, treatment and staffing costs.
Through a thorough understanding of the nutritional issues faced by the elderly and experience working with staff in the residential aged care setting, Apple-A-Day Dietetics dietitians are able to provide professional and practical nutritional advice and support.
We offer:

  • Individual consultations
  • Menu reviews
  • Nutrition screening and assessment
  • Education sessions for staff
Food Industry Consulting

Lisa Adams has consulted to several food companies and also worked in a sales role for a company providing specialised nutrition and hydration products to hospitals and residential aged care facilities. She provided nutritional input during the development of a leading fluid thickener. She can review the medical literature to provide evidence based nutritional information to food manufacturing companies.

No, you can book directly with Apple A Day Dietetics without a referral at any time. However, a GP referral under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan makes you eligible for a Medicare rebate of $52.95 per consultation for up to five sessions per calendar year. If you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, obesity, or heart disease, ask your GP about a CDM plan before your first appointment. We can also liaise directly with your GP or care team if needed.

Our NDIS-registered dietitians provide individual dietary assessments, personalised meal plans and recipes, cooking lessons, and practical nutrition education. We offer home visits throughout the Gold Coast, Logan, and South Brisbane, in-clinic appointments at our medical centre locations, and telehealth for participants who prefer remote support. We are experienced in staff training for supported accommodation providers and complete all NDIS reporting. We accept self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants.

In Australia, ‘Accredited Practising Dietitian’ (APD) is a legally protected title regulated by Dietitians Australia. An APD holds an accredited university degree and must maintain ongoing professional development. ‘Nutritionist’ is not a protected title — anyone can use it regardless of qualifications. This matters because Medicare rebates, NDIS funding, and DVA services are only available through a registered APD. All dietitians at Apple A Day Dietetics hold current APD status.

Yes. Apple A Day Dietetics offers dietitian home visits throughout the Gold Coast, Logan, and South Brisbane. Home visits suit NDIS participants, elderly clients in aged care, and anyone whose health or mobility makes travelling to a clinic difficult. Our dietitians conduct full assessments, deliver meal planning sessions, provide cooking guidance, and complete required NDIS reporting during the visit. To arrange a home visit, call us directly or submit our NDIS referral form.

Dietitian services are typically funded under Capacity Building — Improved Health and Wellbeing in an NDIS plan. This budget supports allied health services that build long-term health outcomes for participants. If you are unsure whether a participant’s plan includes this category, contact their support coordinator or local area coordinator (LAC) for advice. Apple A Day Dietetics accepts self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants and provides NDIS-compliant service agreements and progress reports.

Our Accredited Practising Dietitians support clients with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity and weight management, IBS and gut health, food intolerances and allergies, PCOS, bariatric and post-surgical nutrition, paediatric feeding difficulties, and nutrition for aged care. We also provide specialist support for NDIS participants with disability-related dietary needs, including autism, intellectual disability, and acquired brain injury.

Yes. Our dietitians are registered for Medicare-rebated consultations under Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans. DVA Gold Card holders are fully bulk-billed with no out-of-pocket cost. White Card holders can access dietitian services for DVA-accepted conditions. We are also a registered NDIS provider. If you hold a Medicare care plan or a DVA card, please mention this when booking so we can apply the correct rebate or billing arrangement.

Yes. Apple A Day Dietetics offers telehealth consultations for clients across the Gold Coast, Logan, South Brisbane, and anywhere in Australia. Telehealth appointments cover initial assessments, meal planning, and review consultations via secure video. Medicare CDM rebates, NDIS Capacity Building funding, and private health fund extras cover all apply to telehealth in the same way as in-clinic visits. Telehealth suits clients with busy schedules, limited mobility, or those outside our clinic locations

Yes. Our Accredited Practising Dietitians provide evidence-based weight management support tailored to your health history, lifestyle, and goals — without restrictive diets or calorie-counting. Our Weight Loss Package includes an initial assessment, personalised meal plan, and four review consultations. If your GP has issued a Chronic Disease Management plan for obesity or a related condition, you may claim a Medicare rebate of $52.95 per consultation for up to five sessions per calendar year. Private health fund rebates may also apply

Yes. Apple A Day Dietetics provides dietitian services to residential aged care facilities and elderly clients living at home across the Gold Coast and Logan. Services include individual nutrition assessments, malnutrition screening, menu reviews, and staff education sessions. We also support clients receiving Home Care Packages, where dietitian services may be funded under the package budget — confirm eligibility with your Home Care Package provider. Early dietitian involvement reduces falls risk, supports wound healing, and improves immunity in older adults.

Yes. Apple A Day Dietetics offers a Bariatric Surgery Package covering pre-surgery dietary preparation and five post-surgery review consultations, with personalised meal plans for each stage of the dietary transition — from fluids through to long-term maintenance. Bariatric surgery changes how your body absorbs nutrients, making specialist dietitian support essential to prevent deficiencies and support recovery. Our APD dietitians can liaise with your surgical team as required. The package is $400 before private health fund rebates.

The number of appointments depends on your goals and condition. For a straightforward assessment with a personalised meal plan, a single 40-minute initial consultation is often sufficient. For chronic disease management, weight loss, or complex conditions such as IBS or diabetes, three to six review consultations over three to six months is typical. Under a Medicare CDM plan, you can claim a rebate on up to five sessions per calendar year. Apple A Day Dietetics also offers structured packages that bundle consultations and resources at a lower overall cost.
